If you are like most of us, you want to give back to our community. Now's the time to put your values into practice. The life we change may be our own.

Your financial contribution can help a women or girl change her life.

We rely on the donations of individuals like you to provide:

  • A safe place for professional counseling and emotional support
  • Job coaching for women who need immediate employment
  • Divorce support and legal clinics
  • Money management workshops and tax preparation assistance
  • Referral services for additional services

Give an in-kind gift

We appreciate any contribution that will enhance the experience of every child, teen, and adult who comes to our resource and counseling center.

The following in-kind contributions are a very direct way to create an atmosphere of safety and support.

For program participants

  • Herbal tea and green tea
  • Non-perishable food
  • Grocery store gift cards
  • Gas station/phone gift cards
  • Professional business clothing (esp. size 16 and up)

For office use

  • Postage stamps (booklets or rolls)
  • Gift cards to Staples
  • Gift cards to Target, Kroger or Kmart
  • Copier paper
  • Prepaid copy cards (Staples, UPS Store, Kinko's, etc)
  • General office supplies

Services

  • Sponsors for our agency brochure (500 are circulated every 6 weeks)
  • Sponsor for printed fund development return envelopes
  • Carpet cleaning; floor preparation and waxing

Things we cannot use

  • Computers more than two years old
  • Office furniture in need of repair
  • Clothing in need of repair or cleaning or that is inappropriate for office/work
  • Children's clothing
  • Stuffed animals or other toys that cannot be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected

Memorials and special occasions

You may make a donation in someone's name to honor a special occasion (i.e., birthday, anniversary, graduation, Mother's Day) or to pay tribute to the memory of a loved one. Friends or family members can also suggest that donations be made directly to The Women's Center in lieu of flowers or gifts. Call The Women's Center directly at 734.973.6779 to arrange a donation. We will need a name and address, so that we can notify the honoree or family members of your gift.

The Women's Center has one big fundraising event in May, and a number of other smaller appeals throughout the year. This is a time for businesses and corporations to get their name out to the public, highlighting the contributions they make to women, girls, and families.
